Default Bar ends

Hi folks have a few question about the standard bar ends on these bikes. No 1 are they a particular weight? Mine has had aftermarket ones fitted and don't seem to fit well. If they are a are a particular weight, can you tell me if they are made of steel or ally?
I have access to a lathe and both steel and ally bar, so should be able to make some to the original specks. So to the main question, can any one tell me the length of the bar end from the bar to the end and the diamiter ?
Have taken the aftermarket one out and the inners are still there with the threads intacked. If I can get these sizes I might be able to nock some up for others who want that origianl look for their bikes.
Any body help me out? thanks folks

My 96 bar ends are 1/2" long and 7/8" diameter at the handlebars and increase to 1 3/4" long and 1 1/4" diameter with a rounded over end. I think they are painted steel and am not sure of the weight but aftermarket stainless steel heavy bar ends are around 12 or 13 oz. These decrease vibration in the handlebars.

Thanks for the input Chip. That helps a lot, I will have a go at making them and see if it helps as I have a vibe on the bars

Thanks Shadow pics and sizes would help a lot. The junck the former owner fitted doesn't fit and I'm guessing because of that they are not doing the the job that the real ones do. I look forward to your pictures mate
