Bad Carb O-Rings
Like I mentioned before my repairs went well from my previous problems. We had one new problem arise that I wanted to make others aware of and may save you some time, money, and heartache if you have this problem.
When we hooked the gas tank back up to the carbs and started and ran the bike, she began PISSING gas out of the bottom of the carbs. Enough to make us think it was the main fuel line. Under close look it was coming from the plastic " T's " that feed the carbs. There was a TON of fuel pouring out from them.
We pulled the carbs and turns out the O-rings were SHOT. Must have been the original O -rings. Luckily we had an O-ring set and replaced them. It took about an hour to do it but they are tight as a drum now and leak no fuel.
I didn't get any pics of it but my best advice if you do attempt this do 2 carbs at a time. That way you have the other 2 to look at if you get confused.
Manipulating the carbs must have just pushed bad O-rings to over the edge to shot O-rings. Gonna need a snycing for sure now!

Good tip on the o-rings, micheal. They should probably be changed every time you do carb work if it's been a while.
In fact, I was thinking about just buying a big set of viton o-rings to keep in the garage just in case. It seems I need them enough to justify it. They aren't that expensive, but a bad one will stop you dead if you don't have a replacement on hand.....
Glad you got her all fixed up, and it wasn't anything too bad....

Again guys sorry no pics of the repair, was kinda an "Oh Chit" moment. I completely agree with you now Trout it saved our butt. That #1 kit from Honda is over $30 (maybe per carb!) we got real lucky we had a O-ring set handy.
I gotta go get a longer screw driver tomorrow to reach the screws.... but who says its time for a carb sync??????? This is at 3000RPM. Idle is about the same, but much harder to see. What RPM do you guys set at?

And I know how honda is a beatch about o-rings. They wanted to charge me like $9 EACH for simple fuel injector o-rings for a car. I ended up buying an air conditioning o-ring set for like $2, and it had probably 20 in it.
Thanks for the heads up and welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately as this post is 15 years old I suspect the guys had it sorted one way or the other, but good info if they work for the newer members.
