RE: Avon Azaro 46 ST tire***UPDATED***
I think it was the Z4 ST tire. My goal is to try most of the manufactures and figure out which one I like best for this bike. I know that each tire works different on bikes, but so far I'm digging the Avon. We'll see if I can get 2 season out of them.

Well I got Battleaxe BT45 on my Cane, and they are pretty decent for the old girl. I have had the back step out a few times accelerating thru a turn but you pretty much know when its coming. Not bad really. I also have PPowers on my 954 and the are grippy as hell. Really helpful on a bike that can turn in simply by thinking it. They can get a little squirly too under hard ripps thru the corners but thats more a function of the HP I think. Either way you go you will get the most benefit from a matched set of tires. I reccomend a Sport/Touring tire on the Cane because your going to want to ride it more than most other bikes and you will benefit from the increased mileage.

I've had both Battleaxes and Dunlop Sportmaxes on my 90 and prefer the Dunlops. I find that when dry, the Bridgestones tend to get a little "greasy" when it is over 94 degrees F outside and pushing really hard on the back roads. Also, I nicknamed the front a "Slipstone" after getting caught in the rain a couple of times on the way home from work. It made the front end way too nervous on wet roads. The Dunlops do much better in the rain.
I haven't tried the new Avon yet. Are they cheaper than the Sportmax Dunlops?I paid $137 for my last 170/60-17 Sportmax from a local Harley dealer (most Buell's use the same size rubber as the CBR1000F) and mounted and balanced it myself.
Also, do the Avons last longer? I typically get 5000 miles out of a front Dunlop and 2400 - 2800 miles out of a rear depending on how hot it has been and how many times I hit the twisties.
