Alternator / stator needed
After fooling with this problem long enough it appears that the stator is faulty in some way. I tesrted the three yellow wires to ground one at a time and that was OK; I checked for continunity between the phases and that too was normal. I checked the phase detector circuit (black and white wires to alt.) and that was good. I did the A.C. output test and found one pair was only 20v A.C. the other two combinations 50.2V @ 4500 rpm. According to the fault guide the stator is faulty.
Anyone have a good used one or a price for new better than Ron Ayers (they were the cheapest I found @ $224.40 USD)? Honda p/n 31130-MS2-611, they fit 1990 to 1996 US models and a bunch of European versions of the same.
Any help out there in CBR land?
Thank you, Fred

1- E-bay, although it's a crapshoot as to how long you'll have to wait for what you need to pop up.
2- Find a local motorcycle salvage yard. Even if they don't have it, they're usually linked up
tootheryards and can locate what you need somewhere- theytypically charge 1/2 retail for used
parts.
3- Try these guyshttp://www.motorcycle-bike-parts.com/, although I have never used them and am not endorsing them in any way.
