Advice Needed. CBR1000F Shutting out at 6000 rpm
It's in the rubber intakes before the air reaches the air filter box.
Pull the saddle and then the side covers.
There is a 10mm bolt that holds the plastic intake, so remove it.
With the plastic inlet removed, there should be an "h" (not "H"shaped) shaped part holding the sides of the rubber apart.
That "h" shaped divider fits into the square holes in the sides of the soft rubber intake.
I noticed, Separator, L.Duct #17244-MS2-000
is different from, Separator, R.Duct #17243-MS2-000

You can make them easily enough too with alum roof strips /shingles
and make an elongated "+" with two strips notched dead center in each,
keeps the sides from puckering and collapsing in ......lol
Have my 93 apart - these are required or the elbows collapse
and cause the motor to bog down from 6000 ----->
the h goes on the left the blocky one in the right side

I'm going to have to take a look, I'm sure I must have them, but I can't remember that specific shape. I'm tinkering with the bike at the moment anyway, I'll satisfy my curiosity when the temperature gets above freezing

Awesome techy stuff there Sprock.
If a pattern is needed; take a good quality photo with an engineers rule alongside the piece, I can scale to the correct size in Acad, then plot to a pdf that will print out at the correct size at A4.
Cheers

Must be the reason for 2 part #'s.
I modified your picture to show what mine looks like (how I remember them).
My "h" is truly that shape and not blocky like yours.
The reason I remember the shape is because they fall out when doing an air filter change.
Also, in your photo, the top one looks like the one in my post (#15) above where the part is #9.
