Default 600 cane cdi on a 1k?

will the 1989 cbr 600 cdi box work on the 1990 1k model? probably not, but figured I would ask...I cannot find the CDI in any of the fiche online for the 1k bikes...no part numbers to compare...if it wont then what years of 1k CDIs will work for my 1990?

If the CDI is what Honda calls the Ignition Module, then the part number is 30410-MZ2-601, and is different than the 600's. To find it in the fiche, look for the rear fender diagram. http://fiche.ronayers.com/Index.cfm/...up/REAR_FENDER

Oops. The above part number is for 93 and up models. For 90 it's 30410-MS2-010

Some guys tried using an 88 1KCDI on a 90 1Kand even that didn't work (so I'm told)
I don't believe the 600 CDI will function correctly.

I wanted to know about the 600 going into the 1k because I have a 600 bike here that I could borrow from if it was interchangeable....didnt really think it would be, but figured I would at least ask before I buy one for my 1k...dont know if its bad and hate to spend the money if I didnt need to....plus there is a 600 CDI online for $10 as opposed to the $75-140 online for the 1ks.
