I warmed up my bike this morning for about 12 minutes, I shut it off and tried restarting, the battery was dead. Voltage at idle (1000 RPMs) is under 12 volts, ~2000 RPMs 12.5 volts, ~3000 RPMs 14 volts

Do I have issues?

 

your voltages sound fine to me...sounds like the battery may be failing...give it a good long slow charge and recheck your voltages and see what they are like..I understand these to really start charging at around 4-5k at about 15v...so 14 at 3k doesnt sounds abd to me...but Im new to these things.

 

The charging system doesn't work at idle...the motor isn't spinning fast enough. I don't know what RPM the system begins charging, but I'm sure someone will chime in with it.

 

The previous owner said the battery was a couple years old, but that it was a gel type...i'll have to through a new battery in it then.

At this rate of repair, i'll have a brand new bike by the end of the season.

 

The charging system only starts to work above 3000RPM.
Give it a good charge and don't let it idle so long........
