Default 1990 Swing Arm vs 1988 Swing Arm

Can anyone spell out for me any major differences between these 2 Swing Arms? I found that a chain guard (see other post from today) on the 1990 Hurricane looks as if it has the same bolt configuration as the chain guard/rear fender combo of the 1988. I'm having problems finding the 1988 chain guard/rear fender and was wondering if the 1990 chain guard would fit. Please let me know if you have any helpful input.

Thanks!

I think the swing arm on the post 88 bikes is wider to fit the larger rim on the 90-91 - check
older posts as I remember seeing a post that
someone did a conversion on a 87-88 to fit the larger 90-91 rim/tire.

the swingarms are the same size, i think the only real difference is the way the rear brake is mounted. the 87-88 has the arm that goes from the front of the swinger, and the newer ones have a tab that fits in a slot like thing on the break mount casting near the axle.
