I actually don't thing the pan is wider, but the way the seat is shaped definitely yields a wider/flatter seat. I think it's that in combo with the fact that it's _way_ firmer is what makes it better.

I ordered mine with .75" more drivers seat ara (move the step back), .75" more driver height (because I don't like the way Corbin seats are typically lower than stock), and a 'nose job' which narrows the seat at the front (can only do so much of that on our bikes) and I love it...I wouldn't change a thing.

Oh, and I was ALWAYS a hard ***

I have a Corbin on my 1990 CBR ..........worth every penny to , very comfortable
but you should spec' your build if you order from Corbin for height weight etc.

perhaps, except with the VFR bars you have to remove all the hardware and transfer it to the new bars. I got the GenMars and had them on in a couple minutes. They make things very easy and line the bars up to the exact same location only higher. I haven't had a chance to ride to see if there is a comfort difference for me, I suspect it will improve. anyways for $100 I am pleased so far. And it only takes a few minutes to return the handle bars to stock. Thanks big24fanz

Default The Corbin works for me

A Corbin came on mine. Never been on a stock 1000F seat but I am pleased with the choice the previous owner made.

On the VFR bars, isn't the index pin (anti-rotation casting) in the wrong place?

I just dropped the triple tree 3/4 down on the forks and left the bars at the top of the tubes.

Now I don't have to stand on my toes when I have both feet down.

Any thoughts on why not to drop the nose?

Welcome to the CBR Forum...1jimmyd

I lowered my bars 1" on my '87. It lowered my head out of the wind some, plus I feel it gave me better "turning" ability.

IO got my corbin seat yesterday. I am very impressed with the craftsmanship, it would appear that it should last a long time. What a completely different feel then the stock seat, I think it will a take abit to get used too. I ordered the charcoal snakeskin on the seating panel and tail with black and it looks fantastic on the bike. Its much more streamlined and enhances the overall appearance of the bike.

Got a guy that has offered to buy my bike, and I might bite on it....gauging interest here on this corbin seat. I may not let the seat go with the bike. So if you have an interest let me know. Only 150 miles on it

That color scheme would look good on my bike.
