Tail Conversions on Older Bike???

Tail Conversions on Older Bike???
Does any one know if I can some how put a newer year tail section on my old 1989 Cbr600 F1? I saw somebody that had a 2005 rr tail that looked sick but i had a feeling that they did a lot of mods..
anyways any thoughts?
