Default Thinking about making my 96 900RR into a streetfighter, questions!!

Hey guys. My 96 900RR was in a low speed drop by a previous owner that bent the upper stay bracket. Until now, other than some cosmetic damage, I haven't had any issues. Recently I noticed that my upper stay (gauges, headlight bracket) started to crack. Today while on a group ride the stay broke completely. Got it home and saw that both arms on the stay broke completely off of the frame. Not in a position to buy a completely new front end for the bike, so I started considering making it a streetfighter, with the possibility to convert back to a full fairing bike. I potentially have a universal headlight from a good friend.

My question is, for those that have done it, what do you do with the gauges? Obviously I can't use the bracket, since it broke. Thoughts, ideas? Where or how can I mount the gauges?

Other than the front end practically falling off, the bike runs great. I am think going this route until winter time, when I can slowly buy everything I need to put it back together, but for now, looking for a quick fix so I can still ride this season.

Thanks in advance.

Hey bro, I street fightered my cbr6. My honda clocks were too big so I'm wiring in a set of zx6r clocks. I'm using the ignition barrel mountings to secure a taylored clocks/headlamp bracket at the top and taylored headlamp stays just under the lower yoke. Its gotta be sturdy but easily done.
Hop this is helpfull.

I was thinking the gauges on my 900 were big and bulky and was wondering what to do. But yeah, thanks for the info.

Also, if anyone did street fighter there bike, do you have any pictures of what you did for the gauges?
