Default Servo interoperability...

Hi All, wasnt entirely sure which forum this belonged in, but this seemed the most appropriate

Thought people might be interested in this - the internals of most of the servo's in the CBR929 and above are almost idenitcal. Never seen this mentioned before, but i've taken apart the 929, 954, 1000rr (05-06, 08-14) servo's and they're identical gearing, motor and potentiometer (im told the '15 and '16 run the same servo as the '14, but struggling to figure out if thats true or not).

If (like me) you prefer to keep your servo rather than run an eliminator, its something you might find useful to know as you can often get some models alot cheaper than others and as long as your case/connector is in tact its fairly easy to swap them around.

The one on the bottom and left is the '929, the one of the top and right is a '14 1000. Not too surprising I guess given the economies of doing exactly that from honda's perspective but hadn't considered it until I bumped into it.

EDIT: forgot to mention, the smallest gear is shorter on the 08-14 model servo's, but you can either cut the gear to the height you need or add a little plastic spacer depending on the direction your going, the gear ratios themselves is still the same
