929 3rd gear
hey guys i got a question yall might be able to help me with... i got a 2000 929 with -1 in the front and +2 in the rear and no matter what i try i cant get her to stand up in third. first gear is way crazy, second is the gear of choice right now, still a little twitchy, but in third its a no go....unless there is a slight rise in the road or something to help i cant get it there. its frustrating the hell outta me. ive tried yanking hard and still it only comes up about 8 inches and right back down, even under full throttle. i tried it on a buddys 06 1000rr and it came up nice and sweet with only the clutch, no pulling. i know the 1000 is more cc's but it sure seems like my 929 should be able to get there. i havent messed with standing up cause ive been working on perfecting the seat first. by the way, im sliding all the way back in the saddle and going about 70-80 in third when i try this.let me know what yall think

yeah my buddy tells me to stand up but that just feels way weird to me still.....feels like im gonna fall off the back any minute, not to mention the wear on the forearms... but last time i was standing i was in second at about 50....maybee 80 in third will be a little smoother...hmmmmmmmmmmmm
standing up, and then doing itis easyer in third i have the same setup -1 +2 pc3r and filtercut airbox and devils high mount and i put new springs and clutch plates and fibers. im thinking after new clucth parts it got a little easyer just do it in second and ride it out and if you need to shift
If you get too comfortable sitting, standing will be a bitch to learn later. Practice both if you want to stand eventually.
Plus 2nd should do all you need anyways. Find your BP and impress that way at a steady speed not flying at 100+.

This is all happening in a parking lot right. Cause you wouldn't be doing this on public streets would you......

I'm just starting to do 2nd gear!! ha ha Not even close to the BP yet. I'm still trying to work on the motion of slipping the clutch. If anyone has any pointers that work for them it would be much appreciated.

Hell no RCR, you should see the size of the parking lots i rock, miles and miles long
.
For what its worth, standing should be gravy though in 3rd or 4th gear.
