Default Best tires for the 16'' front?

Whats up.. i have a 96 900RR and i recently bought new tires. The Pirelli Diablos.
I ride some freeway, but most of my riding is done through twisties with hard acceleration and braking usually on the side of the tires. (straightaways bore me) however, it seems as if im almost down to the bars now in the middle, with more on the outside.. but im only at about 4k miles..?

Im wondering if anyone has found a good set of tires for our 16'' front wheel that has good grip and decent tread life.

Or, whats the average mileage youll get out of a pair of tires? (this was my first set of tires bought for this bike)

Thanks.
-Sam

Default My two cents

I currently have the Dunlop Qualifiers. I don't care for them because: Softer sidewall then what I am used to, average wear, heat range and time to heat up. The tire I am going back to is the Bridgestone Battlax. My previous two sets where Battlaxes and I liked them for the reasons I don't like the dunlops. I may prefer the Battlax because I have adapted to them and that is what I am used to. Never tried the Diablos.

you are lucky I can only get about 3,000 miles out of a good rear and maybe 5,000 out of a front and it doesnt matter what brand of tire if the compund is soft they wear fast

michelin, dunlop, metzler, pirelli, bridgestone are all pretty comparable the only real way it makes a big difference is if you go to a race compound then you can see some differences in real traction
