hey everyone im gonna try and do the 600rr tail on the hurricane i have everything i need, but im planning on trying to use the subrame from a 600rr and was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to hook the new one to the old steel subframe. also any other sugestions on the 600rr tail swap that might make thing go a little easyer would help me out a lot thanks

 

I don't know if it will work. The F1 frame is steel and I think the 600RR frame is made from aluminum. You would have to fabricate some kind of bolt on mounting point to mount the new subframe. I think it would be easier just to play around with the bodywork versus adding the new subframe. I have a couple pictures of a modified F1 cane. I agree, just modify the stock frame. If you did cut it off to fab a bolt on setup for the subframe, be sure to weld in some braces so the frame doesn't tweak with its back half chopped off

 

Anything is possible if you have the time, patience, tools and materials. I didn't add skill because that's goes without saying for any pursuit.

when i did my swap on my hurricane i used the rr subframe i cut the stock one off then welded braces onto the frame and drilled holes into a couple of peices of steel then welded them on and braced themof course that is the very simplyfied version i had to mesure and just look to see where i wanted it but i love itand i holds me and my girlfreind fine
