Default clutch

What brand of clutch is everybody using? I need to replace my clutch and would like to hear everyones input on thier clutches. Do you recomend replacing the steels? I have seen thatmost kits for F3 include the frictions and springs, but not the steels. Barrnet / EBC ? Thanks in advance!

McCann, You should go to the "HOW TO" forum on clutch replacement. HOLYCRAPITSAHASSLE put together a great tutorial on clutch replacements. It inspired me to attempt it on my F3 successfully,( although his F4's proceedure was different than my F3's). Since I've done the F3 clutch replacement, I know it can be done, easily. My 1st recommendation is to make sure you have a repair manual diagram so you can identify the component parts,it'll helpyou to understand the tutorial. Several websites including www.bikebandit.com offer free online parts diagrams you can use for reference. I replaced my clutch at 85,600 miles with a set of Barnett kevlar racing clutch disks. 1000 miles later, I can't tell any difference from my original stock disks. Just my 2 cents. Good luck CBR Pilot

McCann, Regarding the steel disks. You'll need an inexpensive micrometer to measure their thicknesses and a glass tabletop to make sure they aren't warped. I reused mine after nearly 86,000 miles, since they were still perfect. Thanks Amzoil! cbrpilot
