I was doin some clean-up/maint. work on my 97 f3 when i got a strange overwhelming urge to check the condition of the packing inmy micron exhaust and foundthe packing rollto be rather worn out and split in some places. I didnt put it all back together cuz i had to go to work so, the next day i took a quick ride down to the store for aquick ride and a drinkand noticed i rather liked the sound of the exhaust. My question is this: can or will there be any adverse effects to my engine such as valve problemsetc... Im not too worried about the loss of low end power just mechanical complications. Thanks forany help you can give me.

 

If it's still a full length exhaust and you just took the packing out there shouldn't be anything to worry about.
