RE: Yoshimura RS-5
sorry for the double post - i just wanted to say that i just bought the EXACT same setup but my light is hanger (for the exact oem fit) and my pipe isnt on yet - so i completely like it but i just dont know about the visibility of it.
its just not that big of a deal for me - my first bike (and last) had no front or rear signals!!! so this is a blessing for me.

Just ordered the FE from Clear Alternatives- I was going to add an exhaust but will wait since that just looks unsafe. Say what you want, it looks like that brake light is completely out of view to others behind you in a car.
any shots of what it looks like from a distance (from the rear)

well guys - the jury is in - egdcbr600rris completely right - i did all of it myself tonight - I did the Rs5 Pipe and the Hangar r/d light and the sh*t is way under there - everyone who takes pics of the setup take them from some kinda side angle to make it look better - but standing behing my bike tonight make it look slammed up there -
its kinda crazy to think that I'm (almost) the only one who sees this - i probably should go with a different pipe even though I dont want to - i'm still gonna try to stick with my idea and maybe put a bend in it to bring it down and away from the light -
and the kicker is that i'm not worrying about a car not seeing me from behind...i think it just looks plain stupid....
not being bias - i just dont like it.

RE: Yoshimura RS-5
Is there any way to trim up the pipe that leads into the slip on?
It looks like there is some room on that pipe right where it routes under the seat for a few inches to be cut out.
On a sidenote- I just read a review of the 07-08 600's and they thought it sad that so many stock exhausts would end up on ebay for $30 considering they had nearly $200+ of titanium in them to make them so light.Wish I knew of a way to extract that Ti and recycle it!!

RE: Yoshimura RS-5
s there any way to trim up the pipe that leads into the slip on?
A --> Trim the slip on and make it sit "further in" under the battery tray
or
B---> Make a slight bend in the bike - something extremely slight to not make a huge difference
The problem with both of these options is that this pipe is made specifically to fit into 2 mounting brackets and if you shorten or angle it you have to be extremely creative in re-routing these mounting locations - I have been thinking that i'm going to put a very slight bend into the slip on pipe and TIG weld an additional mount right under the mount placed under the "rear seat click-in point" and just maybe do away with the other side mount.
can you post some pics from the back view, with the lights on and off? thanks
