Default Will It Hurt My Bike? How Will It Run?

there is my new pipe.... its off a 2000 zx9r well the ninja runs a 2.5 and the cbr runs a 2.25.... so im going to go with one of two options...

gut my yoshi pipe for its core peice and re wrap it to make it sound better

or i can use a reducer off the muffler to my mid pipe...

but how much of a pressure drop wold i see in just get from a .25" larger pipe?

i mean how bad can it be considering some of the race pipes decrease the length and thick ness by about half any suggestions?

also the pipe is a bolt on not a slip on pipe but thats not a big deal since i can do my own fabrication ".25" thick piece of aluminum welding it to the mid pipe and drilling three holes"....

i got the pipe for a steal its a muzzy carbon fiber pipe 938 dollar pipe.. i picked it up for a hundo..... so ya couldnt turn it down... the cf alone is worth that......

any suggestions, comments, concerns... i wann hear it all

thanks

Repack the Yosh. It's an awesome top-end pipe, and I've heard good stories about repacking if you do it properly. It seems like you're looking for a sound improvement, but don't expect that pipe to sound the same on your bike as it did on the Kawa. Sell it, and pocket the profit.

First pipes are cheap on ebay right now. Not a huge surprise with the economy.

Second, Pressure drop shouldn't be a big deal because the mid pipe is still 2.25.

I would fabricate a piece to bolt it on and ride with it. If you sell it you won't get much more for it.

On a small side note Your probably not going to weld Aluminum to your mid pipe as it is not aluminum.......... LOL

LOL........... yeah okay. I just thought it was funny that's all. Better yet just make a stainless plate and drill the holes in it and then weld that to the mid pipe.....LOL

Might be your best option and cheapest.
