Default Slip On....ReMap? PCIII?

So my first mod to my new '06 600F4i will be a slip on exhaust. Going Two Brothers or Yoshi. So I was at the shop yesterday and in talking to the tech, they said that if I go with a slip on exhaust, I still MUST buy the Power Commander and have them do a custom map for me. Fellow riders that I've spoken with say that's not necessary. What is everyone's opinion on this one? Can I live without the PCIII or am I a fool to NOT get it. Not trying to be racing anytime soon, just want a little performance boost and more sound with a different exhaust. Of course, I don't want it banging down the street either because of it not being remapped. What do you think?

Thanks!

You don't have to get a PC III just for a slip-on. If you did get a PC III running the stock map will give you what you need. Once you get into a full system a custom map or a map for that exhaust would be a good idea.

You can put a slip-on exhaust on without a PC III

They're feeding you bull twice. And either really stupid or lying to you to line their pockets.....either way these guys shouldn't be working on your bike.

You don't NEED a PCIII.

If you do decide to get one you can install pre-made custom maps SPECIFIC for whatever slip-on you get from Dynojet's website and upload the maps yourself to your PCIII right from your home computer.

Lol, the complete opposite of what they were telling you.

That's what I was figuring. Thanks a lot, and thanks Tomp. Once I get it up and running, I will post pics!
