RE: new yoshi slight backfire
BAcking firing is normal(if its on decel) .Its the PAIR system introducing fresh air in the exhaust on decel (emissions) to burn unburnt fuel.
Before you tune it you should get a BMC air filter and power commander.THen check around and see who dyno tunes bikes in your area.

Is it a slipon? Not worth spending $200 on a Power Commander, and another $500 getting it dynotuned if it is. Even a full exhaust isn't worth it unless you ride your bike hard enough to realize the benefits.

the fuel and torque curve on my bike after i put a leo vince slip on was all over the place. a custom map smoothed everything out. so if you dont want your bike to run its absolute best then listen to this guy. if you want your bike to be at its best then listen to me.
your choice

If you want the bike to run good, get a PC and load the right map for the exhaust. If you want it to run it's absolute best, have it custom mapped (usually runs about $250 -$350, not $500). The area that will improve the most is quick throttle transitions, like from closed to WFO, or 1/2 - WFO, really quickly.
The air filter doesn't matter for the dyno tune, I personally have done back to back dyno runs with a NEW stock Honda, BMC street & BMC race filters and there was NO gains between stock & the street filter, and only about 1/2 hp gain from 13,000 up to redline (but a loss of almost 1 hp up to 5,000 rpm) with the race filter. The BMC filter flows better when it's dirty than the stock one, that's the only REAL advantge to it.
