How to get Carbs Assembly off Engine
I have a question for the experienced mechanics out there. I'm in the middle of putting a jet kit into my 1997 CBR600F3. I'm pretty experienced mechanically - however, I've run into a problem I'm not sure how to correct. I've disconnected everything that needs to be disconnected to remove the carbs from the engine. The problem is after I loosened each insulator band screw at the cylinder head side of the carbs - I cannon release the insulators from the cylinder head and therefore can't remove the carb assembly. I'm thinking that the rubber for the insulators had "adhered" to the metal of the cylinder head. I've gently pulled and wiggled the carb assembly for hours with no progress. I've tried to spray WD-40 with no luck.
Has anyone run into this problem before and have a solution?

Make sure all 4 screw that hold the bands to the engine is loosened. Especially the #3 which is hard to reach from the right side. Buy a long screw driver from Home Depot like I did. Try to wiggle it left then right, front then back. I had tough time to take them out too, don't worry if it doesn't come out easily, leave it and go get a beer than come back and try again the same technique. It is not necessary to loosen the upper band screws from the carbs itself. Good luck
The carbsare an SOB to get outa there. Just make sure that you don't have anything attached and follow with CBR714's advice. The carbs will eventuallyjust "pull" off. Best of luck.
