Default F4I Advice.....

Hello all! I'm looking for some advice. I have and 05 F4I. I currently have a Two Bro Exhaust, Power Commander, and K&N Airfilter on the bike. I would really like to make it a screamer (As far as 600's go anyway). What else can I do besides Nitrous and Turbo to make the bike faster? Engine mods??? FYI I have about 3-4 grand to spend this summer on the bike. Thanks in advance guys!

Thank you, this is a great site! Insurance is to much on a liter bike. Plus I said I have 3-4 grand to spend not 10 or 11... I wanna spend some $$$ on the F4I just not sure what else I can do to it.

Don't have to get a litre bike...just trade up for a 600RR

Seriously though, 3-4 Gs for upgrades, man I wish I had that to blow on my bike. Let's see, now do you want it just to be faster? or overall better performance? If you want more pull off the line then change up your sprockets and chain. You'll get better acceleration, but lose some top end. You could get a jet kit, but that might be what you're talking about with the turbo and nitrous. Don't really know what else you can do to your engine. If it was me though, I'd also get a steering damper for performance and safety. HIDs, braided brake lines, better tires, shorty levers and new rearsets would be my other options.

Let us know what you end up doing.

I will post everything that I do to the bike. I'll see if I can take pictures of the whole process too. I never hear of to many people diving into the engines on the CBR's but perhaps that might be an option. I think the sprocket size and chain idea is a good one and I'll probably do that to. Hopefully I can get some input from some the more adventurous riders here and see what they recommend for upgrades; Engine wise.

Are you looking for top end, holeshot, or track time improvements? All can be improved but you have to define your goals. Can you lighten the bike via new wheels or titanium parts? Can you lighten you up (are you a.....little chunky?)? Riding style and skills are the cheapest and best way to make the bike faster. Are you shifting too early? I am happy with my bikes power on the top end, hell after bumping off the rev limiter in 2nd gear I going faster than I should be on 90% of the roads in my area. Are you beating the crap out of your bike? try it, it's fun.

There is no replacement for displacement. Have you looked into pistons or stroker kits. My guess is what ever you do, aside from sprockets, won't really add up to a whole lot unless you go turbo or nitrous. I think with the tiny little motors on our F4i's and 600RR's, you'll never be that happy with the power gains until you add cubes since you can't really spin these motors too much faster. I know that this isn't the answer you are looking for, but like everyone else says, go buy a liter bike or a 'busa and pay the insurance like everyone else.

Good luck and keep us posted.

It looks as though I may have to reconsider the idea of turbo. With that being said does anybody have any info on that subject? (Cost, brand to use, ect.)

Look at HRC and Erion Upgrades. They done some good things for the bike. Dragonium was right though. American Honda got to near 200HP out of the FX 600RR and still say they left performance on the table.

Get some new wave brake rotors, SS lines, PC, exhaust, intake, etc.

Man, I wish I had that much cake to burn on my bike!
