Default Dual Headlight Mod - Doing it right, and aiming correctly

**** So my principle question is, especially for those that have done this mod in whatever form, have you found the high-beam headlight (right side) to be adjustable to the same level as the low-beam? Since I am going to run a pair of low/high bulbs I need both to work at the same level (or is the reflector different)?

Also I would like to know whether there is enough headroom with the stock charging system to power a pair of bulbs at all times? Both bulbs at the same time would be 110W and I would probably change to a pair of 35/35w or 45/45w H4's pulling 70 & 90w respectively.

Another small issue I need to determine is whether there are any accessories pulling power off the power wire for the headlight. On many bikes (like my last Kawi 750), this was the case, leading to less power to the headlight. After running a separate power wire, there was a noticeable difference that combined with a higher wattage bulb proved to be dramatic.

I will be able to confirm these things this weekend but if anyone knows the answers ahead of time it will sure save me a lot of trouble in the planning of this mod.

-thanks

I was tired of being told " you got a headlight out" , so I tried to adjust my bright to the same level as the dim. I could get it to appear level, but the lights didnt look the same from a distance. Ive spent quite a while adjusting it but it never looked perfect.

Im in the middle of doing a projector retro fit and the high beam reflector is different, it has a slot cut into it on both sides. and the low beam is just smooth. you could buy another low beam reflector and swap it to the other light with some slight mods to the mounting points.

This winter I'll be doing a mod for dual low beams where the high beam side output is only 40% of normal until the high beam switch is activated. I've seen pics of others with this mod and the two lights look almost the same on low.

I didn't want to aim my high beam lower so I could run with it on all the time because that would mean less light down the road when I really want it. This mod seems like the perfect solution.
