you can get custom maps from the exhaust company if you have an aftermarket exhaust if not look up the companys website on the pc111, they usaually have maps to download. You will really only realize a differance f there is other mods like filter and exhaust.

Download a map that closest matches your setup from http://www.powercommander.com/powerc...44&yr=2007for free or get a custom map made for ~$300.

Pardon me for jumping in, but i've got a few questions along the same lines as Gary 86.

If i buy a Dyno Jet PCIII, does it come with a generic map for my 07 1krr, or do i have to specify which map i want. If i re-map it with stock exhaust, and later add aftermarket exhaust, is it fairly simple to re-map? Do their downloadable maps get me fairly close, or will i need to get it dyno tuned to really make a difference? How much do the downloadable maps cost?

Thanks for any info. As you can tell i'm a newbie when it comes to the aftermarket for these bikes.

It is sold with a map made for a stock bike.

Yes. PC III USB uses a USB cable and a 9v battery adapter to plug the PC III into your computer and download the map.

Yes the powercommander.com maps will get you very close but if you want it "perfect" for your bike (pipe, filter, etc.) you'd have to get a custom map done for ~$300 or you can alsotry a custom map from a database of custom maps that guys have made available over on 1000rr.net.

Free.

pretty much what johnny said.....

i would strongly recommend doing filters and an exhaust with the pcIII....get a custom map done at the same time.....otherwise you will not notice much but a slight bit of smoother throttle response.....downloadable maps are good....but nothing beats a good custom map....make sure you check around your area for the "best" map programmer....otherwise you could just be getting something a little different than a downloadable one

The closest dyno to my location is 6 hrs away in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area. The elevation there is much closer to sea level than it is here in West Texas. There is a noticeable power increase when i ride my bike in Dallas, as compared to here. Will that affect my tuning? If they tune it to the optimal levels in Dallas, will my bike still perform at optimal levels back home?

Just curious.

It would be optimal to get the map done at or near the same altitude as where you live.

Have you searched on the powercommander site using your zip code?

http://www.powercommander.com/powerc...px?State=Texas

If possible you want to use a place that has the tuning link software.
