Default packing exhaust

Has anyone packed an exhaust? I have Yoshi RS5 exhaust on my bike and its time to repack the muffler, has anyone done this before or have any info on how to do this?

drill out the rivets
remove old
insert new
re rivet

is there are huge benifit to repacking? or is it more of a noise control concern?

Also, make sure to wrap it as tight as possible. Too loose and it could start to blow pieces out and won't last as long.
