Oh, you experts

if you are looking for all the HP you can get then dont start off with a slip on.. go with a full system. you can get a nice akrapovic for around 900.. if you arent overly concerened with extra power than do the slip on but dont waste your money on the PC3.. you wont need it with the slip on. the bike is filthy rich stock.. good luck..

alot of the gains with full system will come from 10k up.. the low end is still good with a slipon.. the curve does change completly but for the better. it should be much flatter and not have as much of a curve to it.. slipons usually good for 3-4hp and full system if you choose a good one would be 8-12 easily.. i would go full ti if you are lookign to save weight. the weight is about 14lbs savings for a full ti system.
Deezul,
does that mean that with a full system you will lose low end?
and if i get a yoshi slip on, will i lose some low end as well, with the removal of the butterfly thingy in the exhuast?
thanks,
james

with the full system you do lose alittle bit down low cause there is less backpressure.. i dont know much about slipons or the butterfly sorry. i have never done a slip on.. im sure someone here can give you some info tho..
My advice is don't worry about a smidge of power lost below 3500rpms -- it's not important I swear. Heck, I launch at over 4000rpms. So unless you really like to lug your bike it's just not an issue. It's sort of like a truth in advertising kinda thing: yes Virginia, you do lose a bit-o-power in the lower rpm range with a slip-on or full system. But like deezuhl points out, it flattens out your curve and makes more power where you can really use it. It's not like you're gonna go ***** to the wall into a curve then up shift to 6th and exit it at 2800rpms ... that'd just be silly[8D]
