Default Help with wiring new licence plate lights

I recently took off my stock licence plate light housing and Im in the process of buying some LEDs, I found some nice ones on ebay. can they be spliced into the original light connector, or do I need to rig up a whole new wiring system? Im guessing I can just splice into the old light wire, but I really have no idea if that can be done without something going wrong. so before I F*** something up, I figure I better ask someone first.
I'll have 2 lights. any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

if your using them as running lights or plate light then just use the license plate wires ! it would be great if you explain what lights and what r you using them for

Default Lights

Sorry, I thought I was clear on what I was trying to do, but after reading a 3rd time there is room for question. I'm going to hook up 2 LED lights for my license plate since I took the original license plate light off.
I guess I should have said I'm doing a fender eliminator kit but all I'm doing is eliminating the OEM lite and hooking up 2 LED lites.

Thanks for your help!

Splice them parallel into the old connector that way you can unplug and remove (if needed) without cutting wires. Great thing about LEDs is they draw next to no current so the fragile 1kRR electrical system will be that much better off :-)

Default LEDs

Thank you Stretch, that's what I needed to know. I was worried about frying something even though they are itty bitty things, it would be just my luck! appreciate it

Not a problem Just make sure the LEDs are rated for 12V ... if not then you gotta get tricksy with things and find a hidey spot to solder in a resistor. Most of the ones for sale as tag lights are 12V so prolly not an issue.
