After reading through the forums, i have decided to make my first purchase a power commander. I was just wondering about actual size of the unit and ease of installation. I'm not opposed to getting my hands dirty, but i'm far from being a mechanic and don't want to mess my bike up. Any input is appreciated.

i just did one on a GSXR 750, took about 15 mins to install, then about 10 to put the map in.really easy plug and play!

its about 4" X3" i would guess.

 

Where do you put the thing on the 1000RR? there is no room in the tail, not to mention what will the heat do to it?

 

It will fit under the rear passenger seat.

 

i have to ask this stupid question where. there is barely enough room for the manual and tool kit? to you toss both of these? what does the exhaust heat do to the controller over time?

 

LOL ! ! I actually have a heat blanket wrapped around mine. Between the PC lll and my speado healer theres no room for much else, especially that black tool kit and the owners manual, you gotta make sacrafices sometimes . I'm gonna figure some contraption over time to hold a couple tools, but i dont think the manual u'll fit

 

It comes with velcro with adhesive backing. I put my in the right side of the tail section hanging upsided down. That was the only place that was flat enough. Since it's basically hanging from there, i can actually stuff junk on that side. If this didn't make any sense let me know and I'll post a pic. Installation is a easy too. It takes less then 30 mintues. Just make sure that you hook it up to the right injectors. There the ones that freaking a pain in the butt to get to. Just follow the insturctions and you be fine man.
