just wanted to get some feedback and specs on anybody running nitrous on the 1000rr, I just bought my nitrous, powercommander, exhaust and race filters.

 

From what I hear , wet is the only way to go.

 

I am running a dry kit. To be honest, I only have about a 30HP jet. It was tuned at a local shop and it is nice, but I rarely have used it. It is almost a better conversation piece than anything. I don't touch mine until 4th gear at full pin, so that is already moving pretty fast. Anyway, I will answer anything I can. I am no expert by any means.

 

I know nitrous, but what is your purpose other than saying I have nos? Drag racing I get it. Riding around town unless it has the autobahn in it, wow. The power I get from my totally stock 07 Repsol is yet to be explored. I want to start doing some track time for sure. Do people use it on the road courses? Other than all that I would love to feel what its like when you do use it. Does it just pull like all hell straight ahead or what?[:-]

 

There are two tracks close by: one 1/4 mile and another 1/8 mile. I have not had it there yet, but I am planning on it this spring. So for drag racing yes...around town it is useless. For track days I am using an SV650. Working on skills more than speed. Would love to take the 1000rr out on the road course, but it is not going to be as forgiving and I would hate to wad it up over ego or something stupid like that. As far as how it pulls, you would be surprised. It is not what you might think. My best description is that it pulls like a 1300 instead of a 1000. Very smooth pull. Like I said I only have a 30HP jet. I can go up to a 60HP jet and I am sure you would feel the difference. Anyway, you are completely right. It is only good in certan circumstances and I have never needed it to out run someone. I have only used it when I am by myself, early on a Sunday way out were the only person I am going to hurt is myself. I am seriously considering taking it off for normal riding and then just putting it on for the track. It is fun to see the look on the squids faces when I pull up or whatever. But I am not into impressing people like that anymore. I would rather impress them as I pass them on the twisties....

 

I am running N.O.S. on my 05and i love it! I only had one day at the track befor they closed for the summer, but im looking forward to next year! I wouldn't recomend it unless your gonna drag race other wise it really is useless.

 

Yea im hooking up nos and 6" extentions, Hey wille does your front end stay down or is is up most of the why down the track?

 

If i have the tire nice and hot im pointed to the sky!! But mostly im just rosting the tire off. Im looking into a programer for the notrous.
