Rear Tire on '08 1kRR
i live in ga and i will be lucky to get 3000 out of a rear i wear the whole tire the little arrow on the side is gone the first week front and rear i dont see how you get so many miles out of them when mine hits the wear bar it has been through to make heat cycles and gets hard.
what are your guys thoughts on the bridgestone battleax tires? i bought my 07 with those tires on it stock and have about 3000 miles on the first set and i have the cords showing down the middle of the tire so i need a new tire asap. are these good tires? I didnt really have any problems with them unless the road is cold and tires are cold then they would break loose, but in the twisties they did good. how are they compared to michilens or dunlop or pirelli?
thanks
thanks

I really dont get it do you guys seriously ride till the cords are showing? I have never ridden with a bald tire. I mean I am like 1-2/32nds from my wear bar and I am ordering my new tire already...
well, i usually take a glance at my tire before i ride to see whats up, and the one day it was looking pretty good, and i put a good 100 miles on that day, (i do alot of wheelies in 2nd and 3rd, no clutch used) and i got home and the tire had a strip down the middle missing.
I ride all the time till the cords show with no problems. The wear bar and tire groves are mainly focused at wet riding. I hit it hard in the twisties and never have issues although I will never ride on wet roads after wear bars are gone. I been averageing 1100-1600mi on a rear with even wear from side to side on the dunlop qualifier. I recently have a dunlop roadsmart on now and love it. I will probably stick with this tire expecially after my buddy has done 3 trackdays on em and still rides em on street.
So I pulled the trigger at 3100 miles on the OEM tire. I had a quarter inch strip in the center that was worn to the hard rubber. I replaced it with a Dunlop Qualifier to match the front. Maybe I am just imagining, but to me it looks like the tire has a lot more tread on it than a new oem tire starts with. Has anyone else seen this or am I just seeing things?
