Hey guys thanks for all the replies and input. First things first I was totally joking (bad joke) about it being from Canada..Its actually in the west states (I know I am being shy about telling where but I just dont want someone to ****** it that's all!) The VIN checked out fine as a 2001 per this website http://www.motoverse.com/tools/vin/honda.asp
I dont mind the fairing damage as I will eventually paint them. I worry about fluids, frame and motor physical blemishes and the overall mechanics. I have a really cool guy who's actually a member on this forum whom is coming to see the bike with me tonight. He will be my eyes and ears per the mechanics of the bike. Its great how people on this forum come together to help one and other out! I can tell right away that the bike needs a rear tire and I'm sure a couple other minor things so If everything checks out I will offer $2,600 and go from there! I will keep you all updated!
Random questions: So it seems the pilot power is the way to go for the rear tire...I am in a dry climate..should I get the regular pilot power or pilot power 2CT or....? Also will my local discount tires or michellin dealer have them? Whats a local place to purchase/have the tire installed at?
Oh also, for us non-garaged guys, how do you "lock" your bike when you store it outside? We have quite a bit of auto and bike theft in my state. The bike will be under a car port, behind my car, but open and accessible somewhat. I saw one guy in our lot had a regular "U-shaped" bar bike lock in his back rim? I thought that was a good idea?

Most people will say 2CT for tires... u can do tires yourself if you would like... there was a write up no to long ago... also remove your wheels if your going to have a shop do it bc they will charge u a pretty penny for labor other wise...
alot of people use rebar with cement in the ground and chain ur bikes frame to that (no wheel or anything that can be easily removed)...... u shaped bar bike lock is a bad idea... because people stealing them usually lift them into the back of a van or a u haul or something... ur best bet it a lo-jack or security system...
good luck
Thanks zmds18-I am sure the forum member who is helping me will chime in!
Should discount tire or michellin carry/have pilot power 2CT's in stock or is it better to order from an online vendor?
As much as I would love to, I don't think I will be able to put a cement block in my parking area! SO it looks like a security system is my next option, I think a security system might be nice as well seeing I have a few punk kids loitering every now and then and a loud alarm would make sure they stay away. Unfortunately, I am not a wealthy man..what is a bottom dollar effecient alarm/security system and any link provided would be great. Thanks I appreciate everybody's help!

that is one alot of people go with... very nice alarm... it even has a pager in the remote...
if i were ordering tires ide pick up a set off ebay... prolly find the best deals there but some prefer official vendors... im sure some one else can help u there if ur looking for a "official" site or vendor...

An alarm by itself is not very effective. Unless you're within earshot / pager range and can move quick enough, your baby will be screaming in the back of the van / truck. You need a chain to secure it to something, if you don't have a secure area. If there's a light post somewhere in your apartment parking lot, that'll work too.
Alarms, I've done 2. The Spy 5000m and the Cyclone 866F. For its cost, the Spy is slightly more effective than the Cyclone because of the two way paging ability. And definitely cheaper. I've gotten the remote start to work in my bike but strangely enough when another member tried to hook it up the exact same way in his bike, no remote start.
You'll get the best prices for tires online. But a local shop or dealer may price match them just to get the installation costs. If you find a price you like, call the shop and ask if they'll match the price.
