Default troubles starting (96 cbr600f3)

i am having trouble getting my bike to start right up. sometimes it takes 10 seconds of turnover before it starts. Im new to this whole mechanic thing but ive taken my bike apart a couple times and havent found anything out of the ordinary. Ive replaced the battery (which still died after a full charge) and spark plugs. I was told to check the r/r and the stator but im not sure where or what im looking at. if you think it might be that or something else let me know what im dealing with and how i can go about fixing it. I would like make taking it to a shop a last resort as i dont have a lot of extra cash. photos would be much appreciated. thanks!

How long have you had the bike? If its new to you, have you cleaned the carbs yet? And what condition were the plugs in when you changed them?

The fact that your battery died after a full charge & got a feeling the new one will as well A work shop manual will give you all the details you need to check the reg with a voltmeter, the regulator getting really hot & sometimes having melted connectors is one way of suspecting the reg. If its the reg, your battery is taking a beating each time you ride, so subsequently the power you need to start her up is getting harder as the battery becomes drained.
If the battery is fully charged & you have replaced the plugs, then the only other culprits are going to be your carbs & possibly a dirty air filter.

Could have multiple issues going on here. To save yourself a lot of headache and pain, pick an issue and start diagnosing that till complete or forced to diag the other.

Like pacemaker said, a weak battery could lead to starting issues. Did she start right up after replacing the battery & plugs?

You said the previous owner jetted & cleaned the carbs. He could have done so poorly, leading to a bad a/f ratio. Did he give you the jet kit with the bike?

Just do charging system test and you should be good. If its R/R you have no problems. Easy fix. But if its a short somewhere. Hmmm...It can be more difficult. Get a voltmeter and do this first:
