how to mahe my 07 fast?
My good friend rides a Hayabusa also. I told him don't think that I will even attempt to keep up with him if he gets the urge to do triple digit speeds.
I won't ride to prove anything to anybody, that's the mentality of somebody who is going to find themselves in a sticky situation. I suggest you make it very clear to your friend that you are not on a Hayabusa and if you are happy to be on your CBR - they better respect that.
A group should never be riding faster than their slowest rider anyway it's called respect.
I hope you didn't buy a bike to prove anything to anybody. I also hope you realize your own personal limits as well as the limits of the bike and ride with in that threshhold so you may stay safe and keep on riding.

Good street riders ride fast together, they don't race each other!
exactly.... if you go to a track with the state of mind that you are going to win just because you have a 1000cc you have another thing coming. guys on the aprilia 250's will smoke you if your not experienced. anyone can pin it in a strait line. but if you put a experienced rider on a 1000rr and an experienced rider on a aprilia 250, the 1000rr will lap him 5 times over obviously. But track day riders usually end up letting their ego and big motors get in the way of reality
Some food for thought: a skydiver in freefall accelerates at 1g, to a speed of 120mph (terminal velocity). Our bikes power-wheelie at nearly 1g, so with a good launch we accelerate at a bit under 1g and hit 120mph in a matter of seconds at nearly the speed of a freefall. We can then continue to go faster until we reach around 1.5 times the speed of a freefall. Thats friggin fast!
To the OP: there is much more skill and respect to be earned by using our bikes for what they are made for, which is corner carving. With equally matched rider skills our bikes will absolutely own a busa in the twisties. Truthfully the thing that will make the biggest improvement to the speed of your bike is improving your riding skills. Any GOOD rider knows that. A friend of mine has a BMW GS650 with semi-knobbies on it and I'm willing to bet he would leave 80%+ of sportbike riders in his dust in the curves (of course he does have over 30 years of hard-core riding and racing experience).
You guys need to step down from your soap boxes and give a new guy a brake... The guy didn't ask how to ride. He didn't say where he was going to ride.
He asked a simple question; "i have a 07 1000rr what do i do to make it faster then my budds busa?"
Pretty straight forward question as I see it.

Here's me almost hitting a crow at 150ish kph (nearly 100 mph): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBLoVJFuE0M
