HI, i got a new bike last week and have found all the info i have needed so far on the forum, the bike is a 1990 in good condition it has not run for 7 years so this may be a bit of an adventure, carbs have come off and been cleaned, looks like the coolant is empty so i will have to flush that and check for leaks hope to get it back on the road for the spring.

welcome to the forum.

She looks very good in the picture, I love the red/white/blue colour scheme.

With luck you'll have the full stainless Nexus system.

Need any help, just shout.

Hi Cliven, I have the identical bike, which I bought last June in good working order here in Hong Kong. Its a great machine, not as much torque off the start as modern street bikes of course but great power overall. Its a smooth, impressive machine. Good luck in your restoration.

I have stripped the carbs and cleaned jets were totally blocked put it all back on bike checked and there was coolant in the pump so i filled up radiator an left no leaks seen put on a temp fuel tank and it fired as soon as the carbs filled ticking over in garage ok, when the bike got warm noted a water leak just below the filler cap turned out to be split in the pipe to the expansion tank so all is looking good today
looks like i do have a stainless system so this is looking like a good buy

Great news Cliven!

Always feels good to get the MOT over with.

After twenty years, you're wise to take it easy, I always feel a bit twitchy after just the winter break and it takes me a good 4-6 weeks to get fully comfortable again.

Enjoy the season
