Rattle can paint job...
Does anyone have experience with painting a bike with rattle cans? I know it sounds low budget, ghetto, and jankey but folks broke these days and want a new paint job. I've already peeled off all decals, sanded and primered all fairings/parts by hand (long process!!!). I plan on using "SEM" (a vinyl/plasic "bendable" paint) paint for the color. Now I was told by a pretty reliable source that I cant get a professional clear coat (was going to save up fpr at least that...) done due to the fact that the other paint I plan on using may not "hold" well with the clear. I was told that I should the same brand of paint (i.e. SEM) for the clear coat. I'm just wondering if this SEM paint will take? I really dont expect this job to be good as a professional but would like to think that it should stand up to weather/washings. Any ideas, comments, or coatson rattle can painting or use of SEM paint would be greatly appreciated. Any tips or tricks would help too! Btw... if I did have a couple grand for a paint job I would deffinantly be doing it the right way and getting it done proffesionally.

RE: Rattle can paint job...
You can paint your bike using cans, but to be honest your not going to have a job that will last, the paint chips & marks very easy, is supceptible to petrol & just about any corrosive road grime. & even if your lucky with all that, it will eventually crack or craze & fade, just from sun & weather damage.
