Default How to do a good rattle can paint job

I want to repaint the plastics and gas tank. I was going to paint it glossy black. I am just wondering how to get the best results that I can. so any tips are welcomed.

If you want a decent paint job that will last I would suggest not using a rattle can. Use a gun and compressor and make sure you spend the prep time before you paint.

you cant(or shouldnt) rattle can a gastank. something about rattlecans not having a catalyst so if you spill gasoline on it, the paint will shrivel off

Walmart and NAPA both have cheap "air chargeable" paint guns that will allow you to mix up and use catalyzed automotive primer and paint. That would be my recommendation.

I have a question to add to this... Will the new series by duplicolor (I think) that requires no mixing work? It comes in standard colors and is available on the shelf in quart cans. I want to be sure since this is the route I was going to take but do not know if it has the catalyst that you guys are speaking of.
