Default Hard shifting/clutch disengaging issues

Hey fellow 1000f riders!

I just recently picked up a 94' 1000f, and am loving it! The bike has 43k miles, but runs like a top!

One issue that I've ran into though with the bike is difficulty shifting from gear to gear. When the bike is cold, it'll shift perfectly fine. After about 15min of riding, shifting becomes a nuisance, and becomes getting in and out of gears very difficult (most notably 1st and 4th. 1st is almost impossible to get into neutral, and 4th takes persuading). **i changed the oil which helped a lot, but the issue still persists**

An indicator for me was the clutch lever. When I pull it in (when the bike is warm) it seems like I can pull the lever all the way to the handle bar, and the bike will try to creep forward as if the clutch is still engaged...it's an interesting issue, and is the only issue holding me back from riding this beast. My guess is that the clutch slave cylinder or master are wearing out?? The grabbing point for the clutch is very low. You can let it go the tiniest bit, and it'll grab.

Any thoughts? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Good self diag

Clutch master and slave kit should fix it with good clean out & nice fresh fluid

Stainless line being a nice upgrade too

Haha thank you!

As far as the issue goes, I found the problem!! The slave cylinder wasn't tightened down all the way, allowing "flex" when the clutch lever was pulled. I tightened down the three bolts, and gave her a go....the bike has all access to gears and shifts buttery smooth!!

I love easy fixes

Now to ride the big sucker, and potentially turn her into a street fighter!

Nothing worse than having a few screws loose
