Question for everyone!
Hey guys! I have a quick question... When i bought my bike the guy took off the stock mirrors and put a bar end mirror on the left side. Is that legal in california? Do I need to put the stock mirrors back on?
Mirrors
26709. (a) Every motorcycle subject to registration in this state shall be equipped with a mirror so located as to reflect to the driver a view of the highway for a distance of at least 200 feet to the rear of such vehicle. Every motor vehicle, except a motorcycle, shall be equipped with not less than two such mirrors, including one affixed to the left-hand side.
(z) Up to 95% obscuring of a rear view mirror by a motorcyclist's arm and elbow is permissible.
I got that off of a quick search in google for California Motorcycle Laws. Not sure if this helps ya.

The law may say that but it's really up to the police officer. One San Diego Police officer told me all I needed was the left rear-view mirror and I won't get a ticket. Then my friend that's on Chula Vista Police department said that I need at least both rear view mirrors and it's alright if I have the two small ones for the bar ends. So I say just do it and hope the Police Officer isn’t a scum-bag[8D]
(Personally I am taking off my stock mirrors and just adding bar end rear view mirrors because you can see a lot more than the OG parts and plus your shoulders don’t get in the way of your vison)

They dont NEED a reason to pull you over. Or even throw you in jail for that matter. You can be held up to 72 hours before they HAVE to charge you with a crime. I found out the hard way. [sm=headbang.gif] DONT be a Richard Noggin.
