Default Best way to remove oil from tire

Well, I went ahead a punctured my oil pan. I took a right turn at about 25mph right into an oil slick at night - never saw it. I kicked the bike away and it hit a curb. That smashed the header into my oil pan putting a nice little hole/fracture in it. The bike drained in about 5 minutes. I had to ride it off the street before I got plowed but in doing so, oil got sprayed all over the tire, saturating it. I planned on simply degreasing the tire over and over but I'm not sure that this will be sufficient. This has never happened to me before. Is there a sure-fire way to remove all the oil? It's down in all the tread and everything. I'd like to avoid buying a new tire as this one is new.

P.S. - Special thanks to 3rd Street jackets and HJC helmets. Wear your gear... I didn't even get a scratch.

brake cleaner is great for removing oil, should be ok for the tyre but you'd want to check if it will eat the rubber.

First, glad you're o.k. Sux to go down but always a plus to walk away unscathed! I'm a simple idiot and recommend plain old detergent, water and a soft brush. Brake fluid MAY be o.k. but it is basically just hydraulic fluid and will eat or compromise some types of rubber. I don't know if tire rubber is one of those types. Also, be careful with brake fluid because it will definitely remove paint (don't ask me how I know this).

NOTE Use Brake cleaner not brake fluid. You can get spray Brake cleaner from any motor store, great for removing oil, grease, tar, asbestos etc... Dont use brake fluid as this will eat your tyres.

Well brake spray cleaner as we learned in automotive school is basically rubbing alcohol in a spray can so that will probably work and won't cost as much.
