Hello, I ride a CBR600RR (PC40) Without ABS from 2007, and right now it is time to check the valve clearance. the engine had run 72.000 kilometers and the valve clearance is good ofcourse, the question is.
We noticed strange wear on the tips of the camshaft instead. Not only are the tips weared down and way shorter, but the coating on the top looks damaged and almoste breaking down. I am looking for a replacement camshaft now that I don't worry about finding. But I want to know what could couse this kind of wear. The other side is looking quite good and no strange wear to see of feel.

Welcome to the forum. Ouch, that does not look good. It might have been run low on oil at some point which caused the wear.

 

Yikes. I agree, it looks as if it was ran without enough oil.
