Way to Identify my model?

Default Way to Identify my model?

Hello All,
First post so bear with me.

I bought a '96 Honda CBR 600 F3. I can't tell if she's a smokin' joes or not. The fairings have all been replaced and the owner before me purposely mis-badged it as a 600RR when it is not

When I plug the VIN into something like VIN checker, she comes up as a CRB600SE, but my MTO paperwork doesn't list anything. Last digits are TM550043 which MIGHT mean she's #43 off the line? Only paid $900 for her so - go easy on me!

There is THIS thread concerning your question. However, I cannot attest to its validity. There's a longtime member on here, @IDoDirt . I believe he has/had one. If he sees this he may be able to substantiate something.

She's not running at the moment hence the discount. No lights at all.
But everything I CAN see on her, tells me that she's been very well taken care of and *should* run like the gorgeous beast she is.
I'll want to correct the badging later on, hence trying to find out what she is.
Her one side fairing is original - it's just been painted over but underneath was the Purple and Yellow.


*if anyone is curious as to why it matters

Only difference with comemorative Smokin’ Joe’s edition was bodywork. If you no longer have that bodywork on bike, then it’s just regular 600.

It suggests that your CBR600SE is/was indeed a Smokin Joe.

I don't really care to have her back to the purple/yellow - i like her the way she is. I'd just like to get her badging corrected. Its like putting a bumblebee decal on a charger GT 4cyl 🤦🏼‍♀️ IMO
