Hawthorne Bike Night 4-9-08
Greetings All!
Looks like it will be a stupendous evening weather wise, so it's time for yet another episode of biiiiiike niiiiiiight!
Where: 120th & Crenshaw Starbucks in Hawthorne (northeast corner across from Hawthorne Regional Airport); Crenshaw exit off the 105 Fwy
When: Wednesdays 8 pm to 11:30 pm
Tonight will feature some special events. We have a clergy member coming to perform a "Blessing of Bikes" so if you're interested, come on through to get a little holy water springled on your machine and commune with whatever higher power you subscribe to.
The Inglewood High School choir will also be present to perform the National Anthem for us, and we'll have a DJ to entertain us with some music whilst we socialize with like-minded hobbyists.
If you get hungry, there's a plethora of vendors to soothe the belly beast; Quizno's, Starbucks, Salsa Verde, Wendy's, and Hawaiin BBQ.
Hope to see you all there and have a great day/week!

Hawthorne Bike Night 4-9-08
Okay, I'm awake now
Wow....last night was truly awesome. When it was over, I didn't want to leave, but as with all good things, the night had to come to an end. Again, many thanks to all the folks that made it out, whether club affiliated, independent rider, or biker supporter. It was great seeing old friends and making new ones. I was grinning/smiling/laughing so much last night, my face started to hurt, but it's the kind of pain you can live with
Thanks to the Inglewood Choir rep; she really opened things up with our National Anthem, and went on to entertain with a couple of oldies but goodies (Midnight Train to Georgia). Great voice.
Thanks to the Sheriff's Department for coming through and sharing some coffee with us, and to the President of Independent Riders who is a motorcycle CHP officer. Please stay tuned, as Independent Riders/CHP will be sponsoring a rider course this summer. Events planned include beginner's safety, track day racing, and even a spot for stunters to let loose (in a controlled environment).
And I would be remiss if I didn't thank Hawthorne PD for being the outstanding constibulary they are
All in all, a great night. If you missed it, you really missed it.
See y'all next week!

Hmmm...which public relations officer (P.R.O.) did you speak to? Leslie Cleland is the WCPA P.R.O., however, each club has a P.R.O. as well. Bushido Riders? Hmm...haven't heard of those folks....I'll have to check. Basically, to have your club officially recognized as a member of the WCPA, a member club has to sponsor yours. Further, I do believe your club has to have been in existence for a specified time (I'll have to check) and you are alloted 30 days to get your club name/patch made.
Again, Leslie Cleland is the one who can give you more specifics, but she's out of town right now. She's my cousin
, and I know she'll be very helpful with info. I'll PM her phone number to you.
