To the VIR riders
I'm just getting into the world of streetbikes, and I'd like to invest a lot of time riding on a track. I live in Va, and VIR is about an hour or so away and I have heard a lot of riders mention riding there. So I'm asking anyone who is in a group who goes down for a few days, and has an open track day, for your contact info so I could possibly join the group. I am a complete novice, never been on a track, but I have to start somewhere. It will be a few months before I get all my gear together, and get the bike builtup and saftey wired, but if I can start meeting riders that'd be great. If anyone's interested in letting a newb into the group sometime this summer, shoot me a PM. Thanks
look at the VIR calendar on their website, I don't think they do "open trackdays"
you'll probably have to sign up through a trackday org such as NESBA or TPM
California Superbike School and Cornerspeed Riders Schooldo actual riding schools there that are pretty good
all of these are events you'll have to sign up for a little bit in advance (usually about a month depending on the org)

Just signed up with NESBA for VIR on the 20th, 21st, and 22nd of July as well. This will be my first track day so I'll be in the beginner class for at least the first day. I know it's a long ways off but anyone interested in getting a group together for it? Maybe get a group discount at a hotel or something?
I'll also be at Road Atlanta the following weekend if there's anyone planning to attend that as well.

CORNERSPEED A Great bunch of gys and gals and the instructors and the school is world class...especially since cornerspeed has gone worldwide........ Aaron Stevenson is the head instructor and he helps his riders any way he can and is a great person....check out his website and forum and you will not regret it. I will be at VIR with cornerspeed on May 14, June 4 and June 25 this year. If you can make it to one of those events I will be on a red and blk cbr 954 rr with Smirnof on each side and will be with a racer who is on a blk and green kawi 636. We will be under a Kawi tent usually on the second or third row of the paddock.
