Default Mid Ohio-Good Choice?

I live in northeast Ohio, and would like totry a riding schoolat the beginning of next season. Does Mid Ohio have a good program? What should I expect on my first day? Anyone recommendother tracks close to me? Any advice?

I just did Keith Code's superbike school there about 2 weeks ago. Mid Ohio is one kick a$$ track. its not super high speed, but you can get well up into the triple digits with no problem. its more of a technical track, lots of connecting turns, elevation changes, chicanes, it even has a down hill, off camber, 180 carousel called the key hole. I highly recommend that track.

I dont know if the track itself offers any bike training, they have their own car driving courses, but Im not aware of bike training.

I've been to Mid-Ohio to watch ALMS but I can gauge that track for sport bikes just from being there. It would be a lot of fun. The two straights split by the 180 turn would be a blast to kick on and the other parts of the track would be great for more technical riding. I'd personally recommend Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Worth any drive. Worth any price. 4 miles long. As fast as you want to go and very wide/suitable for bikes.

I think he may be referring to one of two things, the first being the track condition.the track surface used to be really bad, lots of bumps, ripples and patches exactly where you didnt want them. they repavd the track last year, now its great.

the other that I have heard of is that there is not alot of run off area on the backside of the track. there is some, but not like a whole field or anything. I really dont think its a concern for the speeds that meer mortals would be running.

hey i live in columbus ohio and im thinking about taking the same class next season. From what i hear it is a good school, and you get to use the pimp track they have. I hear its about 1200 bucks and you use your own bike. I was asking some people about that while at the superbike races at mid ohio. Let me know if you end up doing it. We might end up in the same class.

Does that price include gear? If not ,do you know ifa mesh leather hybrid jacket is ok? I'd probably have to rent their leathers anyway, because I don't have good boots. Also, does Mid Ohio require the coolant to be changed out for water/water wetter? Know any other requirements of the track?

i dont know any of those details yet, but all you would have to do is call up there and ask someone in the racing school department. Let me know if you find out anything.
