Default Suspention Problems

I've only been driving my cbr900rr for about three months and I'm still getting used to it but I notice that my suspention is very stiff. I weigh about 180 pounds and when I get on it only drops about an inch or so.I bought this bike because of the reputation it has for stunting but I don't know what the previous owner used it for. I'm used to my 97 suzuki katana and that bike is smooth and has quite a bit as power as well. Is the cbr 900 suppose to be stiff or did someone change the spring mabe. I know that the bike has alot of erion racing components and the forks are off a 97 GSXR. Do I want the suspention to be stiff for stunting or soft. Thanks; Johnny
