Default tuning suspention for different riding?

I was out workin on my bike the other day and jumped up on the passenger seat for some damn reason and bounced around. The suspension feels awfully loose in the back there. I feel like the bike rides great but after really putting some pressure on the tail it made me wonder if its to soft?

the question is how do you TUNE your suspension for the style you ride?

I'm sure there is an article or maybe a post on this ( I couldn't find one ). I want to know how to tell what tuning is right for you for how you ride your bike. Front and back.

Keep in mind that it's going to feel a lot softer putting weight down on the tail like that due to the increased leverage.

Yeah I do realize how that would affect it differently than me just sitting in the middle. But as far as a passenger now, that seems like a lot of cushion. Is there a different recommended way to set the suspension if you have a passenger?

lol, I dont know why I'm just really curious about suspension all of the sudden and feel like it could play a huge roll in safety and handling at certain riding styles.

When I put a passenger up I just adjust the **** on the external canister all the way. I'm sure if you rode 2-up enough you could adjust the preload... but in my experience having done it on dirtbikes and atvs, it's not worth the trouble considering how little I ride with a passenger.

thanks,

Again tho, as I look for a more detailed explanation on this topic do any of you have a quick link to something that would interest me?
I need to redo my forks soon anyways so I might as well try to load them back set up as precise as possible.
