Shifting the bike
Well iam getting pritty good riding wheelies in 1st gear i can take it to redline just about everytime. I am trying to shift the bike while iam in the air but i cant get it down. Everyone allways tells me to just bounce it up in 2nd gear but i dont like it. I dont have a damper so the handle bars shake a little. So if anyone can give me some good advice to shift in the air while pulling it up in 1st thanks
Dont even try that untill you have 2nd gear wheelies down, you can loop out.
Pratice your 2ng gear wheelies, then try shifting on the back wheel.
when your ready, give the bike a little more gas to bring it up a bit higher, unless your already at BP, then shift quickly, and if your quick enough just a little bit more throttle after the shift will keep your front wheel up. Theres a lot of feeling to it, you'll get it

when u do it do u clutch or power shift it. I used to be very good at this on my 4hweeler but i would just power shift that but when i try it on my bike it dose not want to go into gear. Allso how would i get 2nd gear wheeleis down if i cant shift it into 2nd gear is there a better way to learn "Dont even try that untill you have 2nd gear wheelies down" is there a better way to learn thanks
only way to learn is put that bike in 2nd gear, clutch it, and ride it out...keep gettin higher and higher till you can ride until your arms give out....
if your not comfortable to bring it up in 2nd then sure as hell dont try shifting into 2nd...

stuntn_r6 is right, dont try shifting until you can clutch 2nd gear up.
When you are ready, yes you would use the clutch to shift to 2nd gear on the wheelie, very quickly.
They have aftermarket shift kits you can add so you can shift without a clutch, never used one though.

Hello, I too have just gotten down shifting gears in my wheelies, if you start out in first you have to let the rpms get up far enough so that when you shift you dont lose so much rpm that it comes down, but what I do is I dont use the clutch I just quickly let off the throttle shift and get back in it and it does it very smooth and I do the same from 2nd to 3rd, just practice but be careful and again take the rpms to about 10 or 11 in first when you shift, Hope this helps, Thanks be safe
get a dyno shifter, same company that makes power commander I think, you can do full throttle shifting without a clutch.
If you keep shifting the way you are, I think you are going to screw your trans up. just a suggestion

I agree scott, I have never need to shift on a wheelie, I just ride at the balance point, and you can ride them as long as the road is straight.
if your shifting on a wheelie, you going to run out of gears eventually.
I though mabey people do it cause its fun, I dont know
