fork seal question
i only messed around with wheelies a little bit this past season. i never pushed it too far for fear of hurting the bike. next spring i am going to try my hand at repainting my plastics and figure i'll have some time to mess around on the bike while they are off. i was also concerned about busting a fork seal when/if i have a problem and need to get on the rear brake and bring her down hard. i got the wheel preety high on one occasion (maybe like 2 o'clock) while tryin to clutch it up. of course i wasnt full prepared for this and ended up coming down pretty hard and slapping my nuts into the tank, ow!!
so, how hard is it to bust one of those fork seals? should i be worried about it while trying to better learn wheelies? thanks

ummm...2 o'clock is like looping...you mean 10 o clock!
it's sort of hard to bust the seals...i did lots of wheelies and didn't bust them until like 2 years later...but there are lot of things that could bust the seals including build up of gunk, rust, etc. along the fork tube that travels in and out of the seal area...make sure that part is clean all the time and waxing it doesn't hurt.
you shouldn't be worried about busting fork seals, should be worried about replacing them ;-)
