Sounds good. Just double check the actual age of the tires. There's a post on the forums somewhere that tells how to decipher the tire code to tell manufacturing date. I got my 06 with 2.5k miles and OEM tires on her. You can imagine the tires were barely ridden.

I put her up in early nov because the tires had hardened in 5 years to the point I was breaking the rear loose @<15 mph on 50 degree days.

That's fairly easy. On the sidewall look for the DOT letters. Right after that there will be a 4-digit code. The first two numbers are the week that the tire was made. The last two numbers are the year.

For instance, a DOT code of '4510' means the tire was made on the 45th week of 2010.

all good info...
thx

i just rode from my friends house about 45 min from my house, riding side streets.

it was close to 40F when i got there, ive lost track of time and when i got out of his house about 2 hours later i wormed up the bike because the temp dropped to about 33-34F but i forgot about the tires.
in second gear i gunned it and the tire started spinning.

now i know what you guys mean that the tires dont grip well when cold.
once they wormed up they were fine. the grip improved a lot.

i will check the tires age in few min. just to be safe.
